Sept. 8, 2026, Boisbriand, Que. — Spark & Co., a Canadian industrial equipment distributor based in Boisbriand, Que., today announced a $4.5 million investment in a new facility in Waterloo, Ont. The company’s current Toronto-area offices are relocating to this new 14,000 sq. ft. site, nearly five times the size of its existing Ontario facility. The opening is expected this fall. The new facility will include a dedicated production and certification area, allowing the company to prepare its Sintrax laser cutting and deburring equipment to meet applicable Canadian electrical and machine safety standards before delivery to customers. A demonstration room, available by appointment, will let Ontario manufacturers see the following technologies in operation, test their own parts and materials and work directly with the company’s application specialists: Sintrax PC-510 12kW fiber laser cutting Sintrax SBP deburring Sintrax press brake Sintrax Sync AX laser welding automation cell with IPG laser welder and Fanuc robot The company’s workforce has grown by approximately 30 per cent over the past year. Over the coming months, the company will also invest with local contractors, tradespeople and suppliers to prepare the Waterloo facility for opening. “We’re hiring locally, investing locally, and bringing our technical expertise closer to our growing Ontario customer base. We believe in the future of Canadian manufacturing, and we want to be part of it,” said Guy Bélanger, president and chief executive officer of Spark & Co., in a media release.
